Jane Sefton, Director of Pre-Planning and Family Services

Making the best and wisest decisions in emotional times complicates any challenge. Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, a trusted business neighbor for nearly 27 years, can help avoid most of these hurdles through our signature pre-planning program headed by Jane Sefton, our director of pre-planning and family services.

Having grown up in the funeral profession in Northern Indiana, Sefton knows firsthand the financial mistakes, misunderstandings and regrets that can arise when a consensus must be reached in a tight time span involving multiple parties.

Pre-planning affords personal choice and financial direction upfront, thus averting stress and allowing family members later to give their full attention to celebrating the life of that special someone.

Great Western Insurance has recognized Sefton twice for her pre-planning leadership and sales performance. 2015 at the national convention in New York City.  Keynote speaker status at the 2016 convention in Hawaii.

Although the process generally entails only one visit at Haskell & Morrison or even at the client's home, Sefton will gladly meet with interested parties as many times as necessary.

Certified in Indiana and five other states, Sefton will pinpoint the financial savings, present the various payment options, provide a detailed, inclusive quote and review the excellent legal protection provided through Indiana consumer laws and Great Western Insurance.  If a client pays his account in full when the plan is initially drawn up, that price is forever locked in.

In addition to the financial and legal aspects, pre-planning also provides personalization.  No two funerals replicate, nor should they. Funeral rites should reflect how the individual wants to be remembered. Doting grandparent. Avid sports fan. Community volunteer. Church leader. Music enthusiast. Special awards. With pre-planning, a person can write the final chapter in his book of life his way, such as type of interment, visitation arrangements, minister selection, songs, pallbearers, military salutes, memorial donations and even receptions.
